The Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) states that “a journal shall have clear policies on handling potential conflicts of interest of editors, authors, and reviewers and the policies should be clearly stated.” A conflict of interest may arise when professional judgement regarding the manuscript evaluation process is influenced by external factors such as financial gain, personal interest, personal relationships, allegiances or hostilities to particular groups or to a person. Journal of Teacher Education and Educators (JTEE) is strictly dedicated to the ethical principles and it is important to address following potential conflicts of interest policy.
Authors’ conflicts of interest
Before submission process completed on the manuscript submission system of JTEE, all the authors are asked process to declare any potential conflicts of interest for the submitted manuscript. This conflict of interest may include any financial, personal, or other relationships or funding sources. All forms of financial support should be acknowledged in author’s contribution.
Editors’ conflicts of interest
The same policy for authors’ conflicts of interest applies when editors are the authors of a submitted manuscript to JTEE. If an author who is at the same institution as one of the editors submits a manuscript, the review process is carried out by another editor who works at a different institution.
Reviewers’ conflicts of interest
Reviewers are asked to declare if there are any potential conflicts of interest (For example, if the reviewer knows the identity of the author, they are required to declare it). Should any conflict of interest arise, the editor will assign another reviewer for the manuscript.
Editorial Advisory Board members
Editorial Advisory Board members can publish in JTEE. Board members’ submissions are subject to the same conditions with respect to blind reviewing and confidentiality.
